2018 Garment Challenge
This year our challenge is to destash! Anything machine knitted is acceptable, as long as it’s using yarn you already have tucked away in a drawer, box, cupboard, under the bed, garage, secret stash . . . . .
Prize is a $50 voucher at Bendigo Woollen Mills.
Bring your garment/s to the August General Macknit Meeting. A Lucky Prize will be drawn at the meeting for every garment entered. For our members outside Sydney, you can join in by emailing a photo, your name and phone number to Secretary at email@example.com, or post to the secretary. Everyone will get one ticket for each garment.
Prior years 2015-2017:
The annual challenge was to see how many different creative and uniqie variations our members came up with from the one pattern.
Use the pattern as printed, use the stitches and rows given.
The pattern was been designed so all can join in, including new knitters. It can be knitted on any machine and only requires the main bed.
- Use any yarn, it will just mean the garment changes size but it will stay in proportion.
- Use any stitch pattern but avoid tuck and slip as it will change the proportion.
- Use any band/trim including rib.
- Add your choice, pockets, collar, single motif, beads, anything.
